Dante Herrera

 

Brief History & Accomplishments

Mr. Herrera was born in Lima, Peru on March 27th, 1977. Mr. Herrera is happily married with two children. He started Tae Kwon Do at the age of 13 and achieved his First Dan at the age of 16. He is now a Fourth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. In 2004, Mr. Herrera was the ATA State Champion in Virginia. In addition, he is an avid grappler and has been doing Gracie Jiu Jitsu since 2001. He has a brown belt in Kenpo. He has taken seminars with Mike Chat for Extreme Martial Arts (XMA), a former power ranger and the founder of XMA.

 

Mr. Herrera also studied the following Martial Arts: Krav Maga, Capoeira, Muay Thai, and has experience in weapons instruction. He started teaching at the age of 15. He has experience teaching Martial Arts to all age groups and ability levels, doing seminars, conducting birthday parties, and teaching self-defense. Mr. Herrera has taught Martial Arts at multiple pre-schools and middle schools.

 

Prior to teaching Martial Arts, he taught English as a second language in Peru. Mr. Herrera received his Bachelor of Art Degree in Peru; he studied Business Management and Teaching Methodology. In the U.S. he studied General Studies.

 

Mr. Herrera expects hard work, discipline, and a sense of enjoyment in all his students. He composes himself with humor, focus, and confidence.
